Research Associate

Yield10 Bioscience, Inc. is an agricultural bioscience company developing crop innovations for sustainable global food security. With our extensive track record of carbon flow optimization in living systems, we are advancing several innovative yield, seed-oil content, and biopolymer traits that we have demonstrated in crops such as Camelina and canola.

Yield10 is searching for a highly motivated individual to join our multidisciplinary research team as Research Associate. This opportunity is available in our facilities in Woburn, Mass.  

RESPONSIBILITIES  

⦁ Perform range of molecular biology techniques to deploy traits identified through our GRAIN platform, and to verify genetic changes in plants

⦁ Perform plant transformations, tissue culture and protoplast isolation

⦁ Deploy new traits using CRISPR techniques

JOB REQUIREMENTS

⦁ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Plant Sciences/Agriculture or similar area

⦁ Minimum 5 years’ work experience in academic or ag company setting

⦁ Strong expertise in molecular biology techniques including bacterial and plant construct generation, qPCR, RNA work and Western blotting  

⦁ Excellent attention to detail

⦁ Strong organizational and record-keeping skills

⦁ Strong computer skills in MS Office, Egnyte, gene mapping and data entry

⦁ Good oral and written communication skills

⦁ Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently
