Yield10 Bioscience, Inc. is an agricultural bioscience company that is using its differentiated trait gene discovery platform, the “Trait Factory”, to develop improved Camelina varieties for the production of proprietary seed products, and to discover high value genetic traits for the agriculture and food industries. The Head, Analytical Chemistry will lead the team as well as independently approach and solve technically challenging analytical chemistry projects. Applies their knowledge to the advancement of novel analytical tools to characterize the quantity and composition of oils and other products obtained from plants in development. In addition, independently creates, implements, and validates protocols such as GC-based oil and PHB analysis, gel-permeation chromatography (GPC), and HPLC.
M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences with 8+ years of industry experience and demonstrated proficiency in analytical analysis.
Ability to work in a team environment in GMP laboratory environment performing experiments. Ability to process large numbers of samples using standardized routine techniques. Ability to perform data analysis, record results in electronic lab notebooks and effectively communicate in a team environment.
